Well with no replies to my two previous help calls I think at this point I must look into putting headers on my 89 Celica GTS with 3SGE motor but most sites say with the exception of GTS. I am looking for a header that will work in this car as the starter seems to be in a bad spot but not much choice in that matter. Where to find headers that do not regurie at lot of changes or even headers from other Celicas that will work. Does any one have the answers.
Thanks

I posted new pics of the alt and brackets and wonder if there is something missing from these pics and I can not find how the bottom alt adjustment brackets bolts on if you see something missing or know how this bolts on I would appriciate the help.

I am going to check out my car on Monday. I will take a look and try to take some pics of the brackets.

The motor is coming together, all mounts are on and with the exception of the lower alt adjustment bracket I think I have most of that together. I am sure it will still find stuff that has to be done as the motor goes back in but at least I have a tunnel to see the light on the other side. Thanks to all that gave info on this and I am sure I will ask more before it is completed.

Ok so on the bottom of the alt adjustment bracket does it bolt directly to the main bracket that holds the alt or does some other part bolt to the main alt bracket and the adjustment bracket then bolt to this other part?

I believe that it does bolt directly. (again, my car is 110Miles away) The alt should pivot on the top bolt and there should be the slotted bracket w/ the adjuster.

There should be a bolt that goes through the bracket and threads into the adjusting block. There should be a bolt on the adjusting block that raises and lowers the alt, and then you tighten the other bolt on the side to lock the adjuster. (from best of my memory)

That is how I have this done on the top of the alt. but the bottom of the bracket it does not line up with any holes any where. I have found pics of the top and I have found other cars and mine looks like theirs but I did not look at the bottom to see how it is mounted there. Perhaps I will have to go back and take a much closer look at the bottom to see what I have wrong.

I hope I have found the part that is needed for the bottom of the Alt bracket I found a part I hope will make this alt mount up again at the local Toyota dealer, it was not a cheap bracket but I will find out in a couple of days if it is what I need.
