Seats (1999 Celica GT convertible)

Hi All and TIA,

I need a new drivers seat and found these at a wreckers. The ones they have, they said are out of a 1999. Mine (a 99') has the seat style with the detachable head rest, below picture.

These below do not have the same headrests. Question for the forum, did the 99' come with both seat styles? I ask as the seats are far away and I am planning on picking them up on an upcoming trip that way, but won't waste my time if they are a no fit situation. (and my seats are in place so I can't compare the rails).

The seats in the bottom photo are not Toyota OEM seats. They are from an aftermarket source.

Thanks and that is interesting as all the images on line of the gen 6 convertible has the seats on the bottom. Do you think that means the others will fit?

And all the images of 6th Gen Celica's (including 1999) have the seats from your top photo (see below).

Have you considered taking your driver seat to an upholstery shop to see if they can either repair or replace the leather?
