Hi all,
I have a 2004 140 hp celica with horrendous chain noise until warmed up. It then idled perfectly.
I have removed cam cover and ocv to discover some grinding on ocv from chain. Ocv filter was clean and ocv seems to be moving freely.
The chain does not seem to be slack, it has a bit of movement but seems tensioned. Could this still be the issue?
It seems as if there is minimal oil pressure in vvt system while warming up but i have minimal knowledge of vvt.
I have no experience with the vvt engines, german cars have usually been my background.
Any one else experienced this and can give some advice?
Thanks
