Hey guys. Just picked up a 94 celica with the 4th gen 3sgte motor and s54 trans. Car doesn't want to go into 5th or reverse. Replaced the bushing on the linkage cable side.. And while it felt better. Still didn't work. Notice the shift arm the linkage is connected to is loose and want to replace that bushing as well. No clue where to find it. Have contacted Toyota, searched the web etc.. Anyone know where I might find it and have posisble other fixes for not going into those two gears? It feels as though it's not reaching far enough over to hit the gears, 5th ends up being 3rd and reverse is 4th. Any help is much appreciated.

I would also check the shift cable. It might be fraying inside the cable housing. When this starts to happen, the cable will work on the 'pull' stroke, but bunch up on the 'push stroke.

Check with the mr2 community, they created racing replacements.
