Hello,
Recently, I found there was a recall issued for 1991 Celicas -or fifth gen in general.
If I understood correctly, there was a problem wiith front strut mount that caused the strut itself to come out of possition. This was first reported in 2000 and was specific to Gabriel mounts.
I wonder if repeated use of faulty mount could have caused damage to other parts.
Has anyone experienced a persistent rattling on the front right side even after putting brand new shocks?
If so, how have you dealt with it?
Regard,
D. Ferguson

Had the problem when in replaced struts back in the 90's on my 91 ( bought new). It was the top strut mount.

Symptom was a slight pop when changing direction resulting in momentum change.

Since the the top of the strut moves a bit, it could change caster/camber resulting in uneven ture wear, or steering pull.
