RA23 Tags / RA 28 Body

Could someone solve this mystery for me..........

I bought my Celica at auction.

It has RA23 tags (RA23 VIN) but the body is the RA28 fastback shape.

Year of manufacture is 1976.

Engine is 18R series so 2 litre.

What is going on here?

What is the full VIN (or full Frame No.) on your 1976 Celica? Was the car marketed in your country, or was it exported to your country? What country are you in?

In general, the RA23 was a 1976 facelifted hardtop coupe while the RA28 was a liftback.

Am in Australia.

The VIN on your car doesn't come up with anything. What is the frame number? Better yet, please post a picture of that data plate for me. Nice car, by-the-way.
