I owned this year with the convertible a few lifetimes ago. Sniff sniff I’ve missed her
It’s 64k, he’s asking 6.5k in Seattle.
But I can’t Kelly book it cause it’s too old.
Anyway, there is intermittent air conditioning/ heating issues, but since it/s both I’m guessing (really totally guessing) the problem is not the air conditioner or heating parts but the conduits. (I’m not really sure how to say that in any other way.)
The roof leaks in super heavy rain, which isn’t often here in Seattle. Prob can fix it with glue??? 🤷🏻‍♀️
so what do you all think?

I've got one and I love it. It is getting harder to find parts though so keep that in mind. I recommend getting the service manual. Also it would be advantageous if you could park it covered even if you fix the leak. Good luck!
Thank you for answering should I just outright pay what he is asking- 6.5k

I would test drive it before making an offer, make sure that it runs good. Make sure there is no crazy rust and then make your decision based on what it's worth to you! Wishing you the best!

Generally a good idea😝 I did buy her. She’s mint body, head gasket leak is getting fixed and a new belt cause it was the original one lol. I offered 6k. Car is barely used at 60k miles, I made sure with a mechanic before buying. There does seem to be some things that are just the modal’s quirks, I saw some overlap with my old one with the soft top especially, no biggie. It works- the automatic top down function. I think this was a weekend car for 33 years so lucky me!💗

Where the seller said the leaks were from rain (around the mirror/window areas on both passenger and driver side) involves the weather seals in the A-Pillar. There are ways to expand them slightly, and with using a little silicone treatment (such as for vinyl & dash pads - as a preservative) would likely get them reshaped enough to contact the window glass better and stop the leaks. I've done that with my 93 Celica convertible.

The headgasket repair will be a bit expensive. Good call on getting the timing belt and related items taken car of at the same time. That should include cam and crank oil seals, possibly oil pump shaft oil seals (or new oil pump), tensioner/idler pulleys, and valve cover and spark plug tube gaskets. When those are all done, I think you will have a very fun little convertible there. Good call on buying it.
