Yes, parts are more difficult to find, you'll need to spend time in junkyards and used car part sites.

Be sure to have a second car on hand as you might have to wait a week before finding a replacement part.

I recently bought a 5th gen and have been loving it, its old, but good. The clutch is easy, its not the fastest but its not a slug. The headlights are arguable the coolest on the roads to this day and you always get people telling you, "You don't see those anymore"

If you have a chance to get one for a good price I would 100% go for it.

If the price is right I would. With any old vehicle there will be issues. Some parts are hard to come by and others you can get on-line with some searching. As Sefiro said have a second car. Part sources are around the world so don't just rely on ebay or rockauto type sites.
If you're looking at a running driver just enjoy and don't fix what isn't broken.
