1997 Celica GT convertible

Toyota used either a black paint or black tape to cover the top chrome above the windshield. It has started to deteriorate and peeling/flaking off. I believe it's a type of tape (based on the observed straight edge) yet I'm not certain. Anyone happen to know of a good replacement material?

This isn't actually tape. It's a coating applied at the factory. Just, over time, it deteriorates and comes off (mine is doing that too). I'd just peel it and bin the pieces. Looks better with chrome trim anyway.

However, if you're adamant about replacing it, you should know that the entire tip trim strip is no longer made and is a witch to find.

Thanks for the reply/info/suggestion, pandito.
After posting, I located a product called Avery Dennison matte black, black-out vinyl tape. Since the exterior portions of the pillar posts, as well as all-the-way around the soft top are matte black, I'll probably remove what hasn't come off, and install some of the above referenced product. I'll post a photo after I'm done.
Thanks again...
