I have a 2000 Celica GT-S, I can’t seem to get it in reverse from my shift knob/gear selector. I’ll start off with what I’ve done to my car/transmission. I had to change my clutch, took the trans out. Replaced the clutch, during the process of putting trans in. I cracked it by bolting it back onto my car. Decided to get a trans, it was a 5 speed trans from a GT. Worked fine, all gears engaged. Decided I wanted a 6 speed, I got my old trans welded. Went in, but didn’t get reverse? Just wasn’t engaging. I thought maybe I damaged the shifting cables, sure enough I did damage those. I replaced them. The problem was still there, no reverse!!!!! Feeling defeated, I got another 6 speed trans for GTS. So far, I’ve changed the trans, shifting cables, what else could be the problem?!! So there I go thinking maybe it’s the gear selector/shift knob housing ?! I changed it and still no reverse?! Am I missing something?!! Any help please?! :( I don’t know what else to do
