I'm looking to eventually swap a new engine into my 1990 GTS and convert it to manual. Mine has almost 128k miles and needs a pick me up to kick more Honda ass. I definitely want a Japanese engine and need to know the work involved in a swap and manual conversion. What kind of engine is the best? How much power does it have? Is it costly to convert to manual? and what will I need to add to the engine to eventually put in a turbo kit? Thanks.

it cost me about $600 to convert mine to manual....  I paid $400 for the transmission itself, 75 for the flywheel, $100 for the clutch set, and $25 for the shifter, shift cables, motor mounts, clutch pedal, master cylinder & slave cylinder from a junkyard.  (hint, camry parts from a 2.0 or 2.2 liter camry will work.
