I recently noticed a creaking/clunking from the rear of my 1990 gt when the shocks are rebounding (for example when the rear tires go off of a bump or when I press the brakes). I don't have much experience so I don't know what this could indicate. Could anyone help me out?

Down low or up high.
Low- there are rubber/polyurethane bushings that for the rods that hold the strut in place. They probably have dried out and started to crack apart.
High - the strut has a top mount that might have started to loosen up or insulator failed.
