sorry should've been more specific....
I have a 91 celica GT-R it has a 3s-ge engine...
I would like to replace that with a 3s-gte gt4 engine (same year)
any info or advice would be great

3sgte engine would bolt in, the wiring harnesses would be different, u can use the stock tranny, but i dont know how reliable it will be. u will also need a lot of sensors and #### to do the swap that the engine doesnt come with, u cannot use the tranny for that engine cause u cannot convert ur car to awd

Cheers for the info....
Would it be easier if i use the wiring harness out of the GT4 also the dials etc??? since the chassis etc is similar it should fit ok...
was just thinking about simplifying this..

this is where it gets tricky u see, if u use the harness from the gt4 then it will hook up to the computer but will not match the clips in the car for all the rest of the stuff and if u use the 3sge harness it will match all the clips in the car but not the clips on the computer, i would use the 3sge harness and change the clips for the computer just for the simple fact u can find a million diagrams of what wires go to what on the computer, but its much harder to find wireing diagrams for what wires go to what for the stock clips in the car. i started out using the 3sgte harness and then after weeks of wiring changed my mind went went a stand alone computer and put back in the 5sfe harness so all of the electrical devices in the car would work. i moddified the harness added some wires and took out some wires, also you will have to change the clips on the harness but that aint that difficult. your best bet would be to go with a stand alone that would make the wiring much easier, and would also save you from having to get all the extra sensors from the gt4, and would also give you much more hp if tuned correctly.. either way you go let me know i can help you out will all the questions u have

thanks !!
here's the info i got from a local toyota specialist...
here's a list of parts that i need :-

SW20 3SGTE Turbo Engine with all ancillaries to run including loom, ecu, starter, alternator etc. Gearbox, driveshafts & rear stub axles, engine cover, intercooler and pipework, uprated fuel pump. New Oil, filter, Cambelt & sparkplugs also included.
The only extra required is an exhaust system

This is supplyed as a kit...so i'm looking at this option ...

Few quiers come to mind.....
apparently if i do the conversion my car will still be lighter than a standard GT4?? because it don't have the awd.??
also becuase mine is fwd I have more power??
just tryin to sieze up the what kinda of power I will have comparred to a standard GT4?? did u notice any differnence when u done yours?? also the company i looked at for the kit do an engine upgrade pack giving the 3s-gte an extra +50bhp so i'm getting that aswell
