A few weeks ago I had my convertible top replaced. Looks great but it is not opening completely. Looks like it

needs to go down about 5 or 6 more inches. Has anyone on here had a problem like that with a newly installed top?

Did you get this sorted? If not the only thing I can think of is to put it in manual mode (switch in boot) and see if that allows you to drop it further. If it does switch back then see if it works.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll try that!
Does it open properly now?
Yes it does thank you. There is a broken spring on this little arm on the roof support and the man rigged up the best replacement spring he could. It needs encouragement to fall into place sometimes but until I can find a better spring… it works ok. Thanks for asking!

Hmm. I also have a convertible, I don't know where this spring is that you are talking about. I went through an exploded view of the top mechanism, couldn't find a spring anywhere. If I knew where this spring is, I would check a convertible out in the salvage yard to see if I could get you an OEM used one (I'm going on there in a few minutes). This little arm on the roof support? Are you talking about the latch handle? Would be helpful if you could provide a picture of where this spring is on your convertible top mechanism.

I sure appreciate you doing that! Here’s a picture of the original one on the drivers side and a picture of the passenger side that was rigged up.

I also need that shift slider thing if you see one and it’s not too hard to get to. Thanks again!
