1986 3SGE head completely reconditioned, shaved .040. Mild port and polish and valve seat landings have been smoothed out. 2.2L 5SFE block with .020 over sized pistons and a .020 shave off the top, all gaskets replaced, all bearings new The engine is essentially a crate motor. 9.5lb flywheel with a basic exedy clutch. Running with an st165 intake manifold, and a cold air intake plumbed to the battery's old location (its in the trunk now) beneath a functional hood scoop. Cheap 4-1 header with a size matched 2.25" exhaust flowing through a straight through magnaflow cat. Original 5SFE engine harness removed, and the 3sge engine harness adapted to plug and play with the 5SFE fuse block. She runs. It's fun. More to come...
