Default 150 pound difference between 1990 and 1991?

I've been looking for a car to take rallycross-ing and I've got my eye on the early Celicas. According to edmunds and other various sites, the 1991 GT Hatch is about 150 lbs heavier than a 1990. Edmunds says the 90 GT hatch is 2696 lbs and the 91 is 2844 lbs. Does this seem accurate? What accounts for the difference?

Thanks

Lots of tweaks by Toyota over the years within the generation and across countries.

In Japan, it switched from narrow body to wide body with a new bumper design.
