Mustang ll IFS
Hi all, I am exploring the RA40 for a project car that would be built in the G-car / pro touring spirit. I am coming from the RWD/vintage Volvo scene and intend to use a Volvo motor that is rear sump.
This raises some questions in respect to the Celicas that require front sump.
What I’m trying get my head around for budgeting reasons is when it comes to swapping parts for a Rack and pinion swap, big brakes, and what ever strut solution comes out of that, is it not easier to weld in a mustang ll or similar front end? Then there’d likely be no mods necessary for the rear sump Swedish motor. So at the end of the day I trying to figure if there is much gain modifying just the front end or the motor and the front end. I’d be farming out the welding so it seems easier to just weld the double wishbone front end.
I really appreciate these cars and think their under appreciated status could be made extra special with that 5 cyl orchestra. I appreciate all the feedback.
