Default 72' fix or sell??

Hello, new member from SoCal. We have a 72' celica that's been garage parked for the last 20yrs. The only thing stopping it from running is an engine and minor steering adjustments. It has a good transmission from a 76'.
We have a 18R-GU (Twin Cam) that I'm interested in rebuilding. For sure the timing chain and tensioners need to be replaced. One cylinder has low compression so i will need to do all four. The valves seem to be good so maybe just need new seals. I've only found one mechanic but even he says its gonna be a while to find all the parts. Anyone have leads on engine parts would greatly help.

However my dad is tempted to sell. We are noticing how hard it is to find parts for 1st generation. I've seen someone asking 3k for the same engine I have, not running. Would it be better to sell the whole care not running, or take the time and sell the rare parts individually??

If it becomes a hassel to fix the engine then for sure I will sell.
Anyone who has restored their 1st gen, what are your thoughts on the process. Thanks!

Gflor004, not too many people have the time or funds to restore these great classics, have it be the body, or mechanical. However if you decide you want to part it out, please give a reply. Thanks in advance
