Default Tire INFO needed for '05 CELICA GTS ACTION PACKAGE!!!

HELP!!

I bought a '05 TOYOTA CELICA GTS ACTION PACKAGE last year and im about to purchase brand new tires on it for the first time and im LOST & CONFUSED cuz im a ROOKIE at this lol.

Im the 2ND OWNER. the original owner told me that the car was customized on the toyota website he chose the option to equip it with aftermarket 17"x7" ENKEI RIMS.

My question is simple.... does anyone know what the ORIGINAL brand and SIZE tires were used on those rims?

If not, can someone just simply tell me what's the RECOMMENDED size for those rims?

Personally, I prefer to have the original BRAND & SIZE that was on the car when it was brand new.

Someone PLEASE HELP cuz this is my first time buying a full set of tires using my income tax money and I do not want to invest in wrong size and waste the money lol. THank you!

The only option for a GTS wheel size is either 15" or 16" wheels. If you vehicle has anything other then the wheels below, it's aftermarket, not from Toyota.

These are the 16"

These are the 15"

I honk at other Celicas on the road.

Thanks, and Yes they are aftermarket ENKEI rims, but they were an option on the toyota website when the car was customized. Like an UPGRADE I guess.

So can someone tell me whats a good size tire for these 17x7 ENKEI RIMS?

From researching and googling it, ive found websites that gave me 3 SIZES...

205/45 R17
215/40 R17
215/45 R17

but to be SURE, I could use opinions on whats recommended. Thanks

Hi.. I have a 2003 GTS and the 215/45R17 works perfectly fine for me. Just changed tyres too and went for the Michelin Pilot Sport 3.. seemed like driving another car.

I'd go for quieter tires that handle well. I understand wanting it to be original, but tires don't detract from the value unless you have more than one brand on your wheels.

Toyo proxy TR1's, was one that another forum said worked really well on theirs.

Hope this helps you little.

Tread design and material depends on what you want from your tires. There is always a trade off on designing a street tire. Your choice depends on whether you want aggressive handling, long tire wear, high speed, or good snow and ice capability. Street tires are a combination of all these but some do better at one or two aspects than others. an example: An aggressive handling tire means less tire life.
You will have to decide what you want out of a tire then research the different brands to decide which tire best suits your needs and budget.

Now, for your wheel size, here is a comparison to stock and your wheel size.
Stock tires - GT: 205/55VR15 - Diameter = 23.88" - Width = 8.07"
GTS: 205/50VR16 - Diameter = 24.07" - Width = 8.07"
So basically a 24" diameter tire

A 215/45R17 tire measures 24.6" Diameter - Width = 8.46". So you would get the same basic speedo reading as stock and a slightly wider tread. If that is what you are looking for.

Hope this helps

I have GOT to get a new photo of our Celica
