Ever since I bought my 1990 celica gts (6 months ago) my gas mileage is about 12mpg... I can't find a fix anywhere. It's definitely running rich, u can smell the gas while it runs and it's blowing a white/blue tint smoke. The guy I bought it from said he upgraded the spark plugs and flashed the ECU. I got new spark plugs but noticed they are the same looking as the stock ones (yellow tips). Could the spark plugs that are in the car still be giving more fuel even tho they are the yellow tips? Also idk why 'flashing' an ECU means. I'm trying to find a fix and I desperately need to since I'm spending 80 dollars a week in gas JUST to get to work :/ idk if a vacuum hose could cause it, idk really any thing to start with.

Hi, apologies if this has already been covered.

I have just replaced the rear discs and pads on my t-sport and took it for a quick test drive and they both appear to be rubbing quite loudly. When I installed the new pads I pressed the piston back in etc. could it be something with the rotors? I don't think it's the stone guard.

Any feedback/ideas is much appreciated.

Hi,
I bought a 7th Gen 2002 Celica T Sport, after some extreme cold weather (for England) I had the engine malfunction light come on with a notification that the traction control and anti spin was turned off. Has anyone else experienced this? I took it to my local Toyota garage who said they dont think its too serious as long as the engine malfunction light isnt flashing? Also I would like to look once this is rectified to start restoring this back to its former glory. Having lived on the south coast and had a female owner (no pun intended) who wasn't particularly careful with it it has a bit of wear and tear. So if I'm changing plugs and brakes etc think I may as well try to improve these areas? Is there any advice on these points? Any help would be gratefully recieved....

Thanks

Because of the high milage I dint want to do too much under the hood and cause the engine to blow. Can anyone give me some advice on how to make this lil beauty go faster. I dont want to turn it into a gt replica like others do (people use these for cheaper insurance then upgrade engine) as its 1 of 500 made,

I was informed the best way to fix it would be either an engine swap with a 2004 engine or put high performance pistons. I want to put the pistons but not sure which ones i should buy. Anyone have any ideas on which pistons to buy. My budget is 2500$.

hey guys, so last night i put in spec d tuning led tail lights. everything worked perfect, brake lights, running lights, turn signals, flashers etc... they worked fine this morning but during my break at work i went to get something to eat and when i came back out to my car about 25 minutes later the turn signals would not work nor would the hazards. the fuse obviously blew but the problem is that every time i stick a new fuse in as soon as i go to use my blinkers the turn signal fuse blows. i found out that when i un hook the left tail light and use the turn signal with just the right turn signal attached then it works fine and the fuse is good. when i un hook the right tail light and attach the left tail light then the fuse once again blows as soon as i use my blinker. ive done some research and ive seen where people talk about led load equalizers but i dont know if i need to use that or if there is a short in one of the wires in the left led tail light? i hooked the stock left tail light up and everything worked perfect, i even kept the right led tail light attached and they both worked. would anyone be able to please give me any insight on if i need to use a equalizer or if there is a short in one of the left tail light wires? any help would be awesome, thanks :)
