I have a 2001 gt at 150,000 miles. I bought in February and got it a fresh oil change and the oil ran dry in 2 weeks unexpectedly and now I need a new engine. I've seen that corolla engines may or may not fit and that I should only get a 03-05 celica engine to avoid the oil problem but they are too expensive for me. The corolla engines are much cheaper but some require a hole drilled in the passenger axle? I can't have that. Im fine with the loss of horsepower i dont race my car. So if anyone knows what year corolla 1zz-fe engine will definitely fit, please help.
Will an 03 1zz-fe corolla engine fit perfectly or will there be issues? Thanks for the reply, my dad is mechanic and has the install covered.
