I have heard so many different things that I'm a lil confused. Idk what would be better for my celica putting a turbo in it or a supercharger, mines an auto i4 so I know its really not the best to do anything like that to it lol. So just wanted some opinions from others before I just went out an got whatever
I did have my eye on a nice greddy supercharger kit tho lol.

Yeah, From what i found looking around on the forums, adding a turbo or a supercharger to an automatic is kind of useless. but it would be one of a kind. I don't think i have ever seen an auto that's supercharged. if you get a good price greedy supercharger then by all means set up pics when you're done!
It all depends if you plan to keep the car for the future. In Calgary you rarely see any celicas, so i'm keeping mine and i'm adding a blitz charger on it in the winter! but good luck! let us know what you do! |

I have seen the use of superchargers make a resurgence as the forced induction method of choice outside the drag racing scene.
Aside from the previously mentioned risk of seriously damaging the transmission clutch rings, I feel a supercharger would be very useful if employed correctly.

first off, supercharge is a kind of turbo too.
second, i heard a lot of good thing about greedy super charge but never actually has a chance to get myself one. if your not all into racing its fine to put them into an auto, it will sure increase the power of your car, just that it will burn more gas as all other turbo. so if you want more power and don't really care about millage then i would say go ahead an do it. It will be a good project to do. just make sure you done with your exhaust, intake and header before you actually thing of turbo .... sorry about the lengthy answer lol

Did you know a rotary is a type of V8 too?
I think you got confused when you said it the first time then just repeated it later in the post. A supercharger is a supercharger and a turbo is a turbocharger, two separate articles in the forced induction pamphlet. I urge you to go read that pamphlet and then take the seminar it advertises.
