When I had a 7mgte in my Celica, I used 2.5" pipes and that was plenty of piping.
Tell me again how your 1.8L engine needs or even benefits from 3" exhaust pipes.

Ok sense your being a dick. Here it goes. The power output by your 1.8 isnt enough for a 3 inch. Your not turbo or supercharged so you dont need a free flowing exhaust. In reality you prob just lost 10% of your power due to thermal cooling and loss of pressure and velocity of the exhaust gasses. This makes your motor work harder to push out the cooler gasses. So in essance your a moron even asking how to do a dual exhaust setup. I have built my 2.5 cat back on my celica I made a exhaust for eclipses and rx8's. The only reason why I swaped to a 3 inch on my celica was because I was planing on boosting 30+ psi of boost. I also have a 75mm throttle body and a huge 274 duration cam and oversized valves so ill be pushing alot of air out of my 2.3lt

He was trying to help you by posing flaws in your exhaust idea. As I just did aswell. You may think that were trying to have you do it "our way" but in all honesty we dont care, if you want to be slow. Cool story bro tell us how you rape civics vs v8 mustangs.

I just didn't want you to tell people that you made a power gain off a system that has been proven to rob power from the car.

At one time, I would surf forums looking for others' experiences of how mods turned out for them and would take what others said netted them more power as fact. It wouldn't be fair to have someone come onto the forum and see only one side of the debate and think that oversized pipes will always bring power gains.

Earlier in the thread I mention that if the results you got were to your liking that you should keep it that way and said "more power to you"
