That is definitely a Short ram. Do you know whats the difference?

Short ram
The short ram intake is generally designed to replace your stock air box. Stock Celicas come with a plastic box with a plastic hose connected to the throttle body. Most aftermarket short ram intakes typically have a hard pipe made of aluminum that replaces the stock rubber pipe, and the stock air box is replaced with a open element air filter. Some people claims this gives a huge power boost but really its just a couple of HP+. It generally gives you some sort of power increase over stock because you are replacing the restrictive air box with an open element air filter, and replacing the rubber hose (which is usually accordion like on the inside) with a smooth metal pipe.

Cold Air

A cold air intake is designed to place the air filter as far away from the hot engine as possible. Especially important when your radiator fan turns on, so it wont blow the hot air into your air filter as with most short rams. Some cold air intakes are designed so as to place the air filter inside a fender or under a fender to try and capture as much cold air as possible. When an engine takes in colder air, it's packed with more oxygen, and creates more power. This usually creates more power over a short ram, but due to the location the air filter gets dirty faster, is harder to install, and harder to maintain when the air filter needs to be cleaned. Plus depending on placement and where you live you run the risk of hydrolock.

All in all you my friend have a short ram intake. Enjoy the new deeper sound.

Makes perfect sense. And yes, it is much, much deeper. It sounds fantastic. I was actually reading up on the exhaust earlier yesterday and discovered it was short ram. Which is a good combo with an aftermarket exhaust and aftermarket ceramic headers (DC sport headers will be here soon ) but all in all, i'm happy with the buy. I have noticed a small quickening of acceleration, and i'm overall pleased.

Dc Headers are amazing! Best Mod so far for me to see low to mid range power!

Here is a photo of my newly installed AEM Cold air intake. The filter is behind the fog light behind the bumper and in front of the wheel well splash guard. Not the greatest photo as my 3gs is pretty dirty but you get the picture
