New to the forums today. Last week I bought my 18yr old son his first car. He's been fascinated by this Gen7 car for a year now. After 3 weeks of locating a 7th gen Celica in decent shape we found a nice one @ Commonwealth Audi in Santa Ana, CA. As we arrived at the Audi dealership flanked by several other high end dealerships like BMW, there she was. Pulled out to the front prior to our arrival as I had called ahead to hold her for our 1.5 hour drive. I was still wondering how a car like this winds up in a sea of Audi A4's, A6's and a R8 sitting behind it on a circular slab of concrete for display. We rolled up in my 2011 IS250 so we at least felt like we blended in with the crowd. After haggling down the $4994 price tag to $4649, we got it out the door for $5200.
Prior to this purchase, we looked at a lot of Celicas by private owners. I just wasn't comfortable being such high mileage on these cars that who knows what could be wrong with them. Prices ranged for $4000 to $5000. I held off the urge to buy and so we waited for one to pop up at a major dealership. What I mean by major would be like a Ford, Chevy, Nissan...etc....type dealership as they do a good lookover on their cars to see if it'll make the grade prior to selling it on their own used lot. When we saw this one at an Audi Dealersip? We were so there. Enough history.......ok so its 8am, registered on this forum (I'm a Clublexus forum member and this forum is using the same software, so cool) and we're both up and going to head to my buddies house to install some M2 Springs for a 1.4" drop all around, Scion FRS wheels and tires which were take offs and are brand new I picked up off Craigslist for $600 (Talked down from $800) and also installing a pair of JDM Hid's. I'll post pics tonight of course. |

Congrats buddy, i just picked up a TRD JDM exhaust and bought Tein S.Tech lowering springs, about 1.5 all round drop, UPS says they should be here monday.
i just wish the weather was as great over here as it is where you are here's a tip for the rear strut removal, i had to use the scissor jack to push the control arm up to get enough room to remove the strut. the fronts are ridiculously easy though, i would start in the rear! Good luck
