Have purchase and sales agreement on 2002 GT in New England Area, 54K, auto with many power options, well maintained (~13 oil changes @ Toyota Dealership in 10 years), silver with basic oxidation issues otherwise flawless, and price set at $8K or so. My worry are posts about oil consumption or any other major mechanical issues I should be concerned with before I take the jump? I just want a fun car to commute with 2/3 days a week ~200 miles/week. I'm religious with maintenance as well. THX!!!

I would say pull the trigger, but yes the price is high. I just got an 02 with 113k for 4500 but there was someone else in my area selling an 01 with 56k and they were going to take 4800-5000 for it but i wouldnt give them that because it needed a good amount of work, didnt even have the 15inch alloy wheels, no sun roof either so i passed.

I have an 02 gt an love the **** thing, i push mine a bit 2-3 times a month to try an blow the carbon out a bit, i picked mine up back in july for 8 with 138k on it but the guy had so many extra aftermarket parts and random stuff to go with it i couldnt help myself. I have since put about 14k on the car and i havent had any oil problems (knock on wood) all i had to replace were the pads/rotors and the right cv axel an the car has treated me **** good with gas mileage and its fun as **** to drive
