Default New here, hello

Hello all.
I have done a bit of research and been looking around for a week or two and decided to join up today to hear from the owners them selfs. I am sure it is the normal questions you have had a million times before but here goes.
I am looking into getting a new car in the new year and a Celica is one on my list. The 180 bhp please
Is there a buyers guide on this forum, I just can't seem to find one? It's for a serious 7 and I have 3000 to 4000 grand to spend.
Normal stuff like mpg, how much to fill tank and how many miles from a tank?
Things to look out for and listen for on test drive?
Thanks, more questions to come, I'm sure

well for that kinda money. and if ur wanting a newer celica the main thing to know is ur going to be buying one with higher miles and if ur lookin for a GT-S then even harder to find for that price range. but if you do find one just bring a friend who mechanically inclined make sure the tranny fluid is good oil is good she runs smooth no knocking or hard ticking find out when the last service was done to her what kinda oil was used how often they changed it how good are the tires has it had an alignment how is the clutch ? is it a rebuild? just ask these questions and make sure the celica u buy is the right celica for you. these cars are great and can last a lifetime...with the right love.

Well, as you might know from my post in this subforum, the GT-S (the one with 180hp) requires premium (93 octane, not 89) gas.

MPG as you can find pretty much anywhere (wiki, for example) is about 31 highway 23 city.

3-4 grand for a GT-S might not get you one in good condition. For example, mine cost me 6 grand last friday when I purchased it, and had 147k miles.

If stuck in the snow, (this JUST happened to me today) dont let the person pushing your car push on the plastic piece above the license plate (The piece that says "Celica") it will crack.

Lol yes it does. It's not bad, a small piece is missing from the bottom of it in the middle.

I was for sure lucky lol. The only GT-S' I could find around here before finding this one were automatic and STILL were about 8 grand.

Those figures are optimistic, as in, lay off the throttle and you might get mileage that high.

My 04 GT was $7500 with 98000 miles. I can get 32MPG on the highway, but in town the car is waaay too much fun to hope for anything over 25 MPG! Dont worry about the GTS, just find a 5 speed!

Thanks for all the replies, well I am not going to spend any more than £3500 so I will be keeping my eyes open. Not in any rush, just want the best for my money, as we all do.
