I’m getting a rattling noise at the rear of my generation 7 Celica. When car is driven over any rough surface (small and large cracks, holes or bump) in road the rattling can be heard; but on smooth surface it’s not noticeable. I've taken absolutely everything out of boot, including all plastic panels, as after listening properly, I noticed the rattling noise sounds more of a plastic rattle. Also took back seat out to see if anything has been left anywhere by previous owner that could be rattling about – didn’t find anything. Replaced all the plastic panels (cushioned with foam rubber), but rattle still there. Got my mate to sit in the back to find out exactly where rattling is coming from. He said it sounded like it was the tailgate – left side; but we checked it out, inc. spoiler, but couldn’t find anything loose. I noticed the rattling started suddenly (next day or so, after the night) when I hit a hole at a speed bump.

did you check to see if it come from inside or outside of the car? If outside then your shock might be mess up after that hit over the speed bump. If inside, then check the bolt on the little "component" behind your backseat (the thing where you put your groceries in , sorry i don't know what it call
) the bolt might come loose over time. If not then check the tail light component for any lose bulb, wire, or any screw that might got knock off. hope this help

Dang dude !!!!! thats my grandma you ran over!!!! youd better hope her wheel chair isnt too badly damaged or she is gonna be miffed !!!!!
LOL.... check shocks, under body heat shields, exhaust mounting spots, and even license plate mounting, could also be that someone took the spoiler off at one time and dropped a washer or nut into the boot cavity which just came un lodged when you hit the pot hole. if it was a grand canyon of a hole may want to check your suspension parts too for broken items Last edited by 2000celicagtmg; 10-29-2012 at 09:57 PM. |
