if its plastic and you want to paint it really good you'll need to sand it down with very fine sandpaper. spray a plastic adhesion promotor and then spray your color on. then clear coat it. or if you want just buy a gloss paint and paint it without any prep stuff and it will come out ok too.

Just did mine not too long ago, used the adhesion stuff and two step paint and it turned out looking awesome, getting ready to change the color again though....use quite a few coats of clear so you can find sand any orange peel out and not go through to the color, then just polish. just painted my hood scoop too looks better than sending it to a paint shop

post some pic of it. yea its plastic. i want to do where the ac controls and around my shifter is. all that plastic. i figured you would have to sand it.. but when you say spraydo you mean like spray paint? or with a spray gun. i dont have a spray gun but my buddy does. so if its that i may use his. im just tired of the dull gray i want to paint mine a shiny blue. any pics of anyones would be awesome

I use rattle can, comes up with the same result as a gun. Have painted various things over the years, painted a complete crotch rocket and people thought it was from the factory, just take your time, taking shortcuts will ruin an otherwise perfect job.

Ill post pics of the scoop today or tomorrow, both before I sanded it and after I sanded and polished it, will also take pics of interior parts too. The hardest part of painting those parts is the climate control because of the back lit areas. I am currently looking for a company that makes a decal to cover it so i can paint and then pull said decals up then clear coat for a nice custom look, may just end up using clear material like tape.
