Default Help quick

Hi guys,

Sorry to be so invasive - I'm considering buying a Celica in a few hours and I need some advice:

STUNNING 2004 TOYOTA CELICA T SPORT VVTLI 190 | eBay

The listing is a bit dodgy (you'll see what I mean if you read it though) and it's done a lot of miles (128,000) but its a gorgeous car at a good price.

What are these cars like high mileage? I would get it serviced immediately if I bought it. What can I look for when I go and see it to check whether it's OK to buy?

I really want it, and I really want it to be good. Only a few hours till decision time.

Please help!!!!

I'm becoming less enthusiastic about it the more I think about it...

It looks good from what I have seen, will he post any pics of the motor? seats are worn pretty good, he has an audi emblem on the back and lists it as a bmw. Heck who knows maybe audi and BMW went together and made a new car??? main thing is you have to be happy with it, not us.

Its a Toyota man, as long as you change the oil, should go for awhile.

That 2ZZ-GE unlike the 1ZZ-FE will not burn oil as it ages, you keep in mind that you need to use premium gas and fully synthetic oil to get the most out of the T Sport.

Mine is at 228.000 and still going strong, yes it has the dreaded oil issue but if you check it, it will run forever.

Thanks guys, big help. I am much more confident now. I am going to view it on Saturday, saves the last minute decisions. Is there anything I can look for, listen for and/or check to make sure everything is in order?

Thanks again

check for noise/vibration/harshness while idling and driving, shift through all gears, check for rust everywhere, check where hes been parking it, if in a grassy area, potential rodent damage
