Default Brake light problem

So the other day i realized my right brake light wasnt working and so i went to the store replaced both the bulb and the fuse even thought neither of them looked broken and still the brake like doesnt work. They work when I turn on the hazard lights though. I'm assuming this is a wiring problem but before I start ripping my Dash apart I thought I'd get another opinion. Any suggestion?

I kinda had similar problems with my lights as well.. Since you already checked your fuses and bulbs I would take a look at the socket of the bulb make sure its getting power. Also check the prongs inside of the bulb socket I bent mine just a hair and it was back in working order.. If none of these work make sure your getting good connection at the fuse had this problems before too.. Ripped my whole car apart to realize it was a simple fix.. If none of the above work your gonna have to look into your wiring..

Let me go look at the EWD. I think the hazards work off the turn bulbs. The park lights function properly, correct? And what year is it? Oh yeah, sorry, the brake stop switch is located just above the brake pedal pad on its arm.

Ok. If the hazards are the brake lights and they work then it's definitely the brake stop switch and not the bulbs/sockets. The hazard switch is a separate circuit. Let me check the EWD to make sure. BRB.

I don't think it would be the switch since he said they work then he flips the hazards .. I went through all my wiring last time trying to figure out a similar problem and it USUALLY IS SOMETHING SO SIMPLE ITS STUPID.. always use socket grease too!!!! check for power if power is there lift those prongs just a hair..
Going by experience..
