I bought a 12 inch sub for my Celica gt. I'm going to try and wire it all myself but I don't know where I should place the sub or amp. Celicas have that little spot for things in the trunk made of plastic, I'm thinking on that wouldn't sound good so what do you guys thing is a good spot?

won't sound good without a box. if i'm understanding right you want to cut a hole in the plastic trim piece to stick the sub there? that only works if its reinforced very well. just get a sub box and stick the amp on that. with subwoofers you have to sacrifice trunk space.

Assuming you have the sub in a box, which I'm sure you probably do, I just stuck mine in the middle of the boot facing towards the back end of my car. For my two amps, I drilled them to the back of the back seats, one on each seat. Looks real professional and clean, cause all my wires go straight down behind the piece of plastic at the top end of the boot, if that makes sense. You could also put velcro strips on the bottom of your amp and then just place it anywhere on the carpet, it sticks really well so you don't have to worry about it rolling around when taking corners at high speeds haha

i actually have a 12" fosgate installed in a shadow box of sorts on the drivers side of the trunk in that bump thats in the side and i have the amp built into the box so you can see the top of it but thats it and it sounds **** good plus the trunk is still open for use.

That's exactly where mine is. I find that there is still a fair bit of room in the trunk, and if you need to place a larger item in there for any reason, you can always just move the sub to either side, which is what I do sometimes. Depending on how big your enclosure is though, you may need to take out the lift-up board thingo in the trunk because my enclosure was too big and the trunk didn't close properly..

just put a 14 inch (i think) in mine and it fits pretty well, only problem is i've got a 4 volt drop on the ground side no matter where i bolt it to in the trunk, so think im going to have to weld on some metal plating and put some more ground straps on the celica to decrease the ground side resistance

I just finished it. Sounds great just spent a little while trouble shooting a problem but it's well now. And I'll have pics very soon. Wires are perfectly placed, I would say. I feel good about it. First home installation on my firs car!
