Question installing a muffler

ok so i have a 2001 toyota celica gt and i want my car to sound more throaty and powerful and i figured i would just get a 4"-5" muffler for it. well i have no idea what i'm doing so my question is will i have to get a whole new exhaust system or what do i have to do to put a new muffler on. i don't want to spend more than $100-$150 and i currently have and all stock exhaust system.

You have to get a shop to weld it on if you get a universal muffler.

P.S. Please don't slap a fart can on it and call it a day. It'll sound like you have rocks in your engine.

You can BUY it for 150$ i assume. I paid about $250 for everything and it was axle-back and installed.

Put a chrome one on it, it will increase your pony power by 80.....just kidding....your gonna have to do some research on this one, your asking a very open ended question to which hundreds if not thousands of different answers will be given, what kind of sound do you want? ricer or decent? and for just a few hundred dollars your pretty much limited to just a cat back universal jobber that you can just clamp on instead of having to pay to have it welded on. take your time , spend the money and do it right in the first place, your neighbors will thank you....
