hey guys, picking up a sweet new celica this weekend (or somewhere around there) from my buddy. Im prettty sure its an 01, could be a 2000, either way its a seventh generation coupe? hatchback? whatever the **** it is, its awesome on gas. ill start by saying i know jack didley about these things, about the only gasoline engines i know about are 5.0/5.8/7.5 in the broncos and older F250's

now you got a diesel question;idi, tidi, tdi i know that like the back of my hand

really just picking this up because my bronco gets 6 miles a gallon and i dont have a toy hauler yet

but yeah, good to meet yall

still gotta finish the lift on the bronco. should be about 2 inches higher and the celica should fit a little better after that.

I hope it isn't a GT model, they burn oil and buying them used, they usually have damage due to being run too low on oil.

Welcome Jason I hope this place suits your liking and needs.this is a pretty straight forward site dedicated to Toyota enthusiasts who for the most part take their cars seriously.I would be more than happy to help you out with any thing I can.I have the 2000 model as well and have the issues with the oil too, like you said I dont mind it but will be rebuilding the motor soon.

thanks for the welcome, i'm still trying to figure out a lot of how everything works in it so im definitely hear to learn, im really not great when it comes to working on gas, i did a compression test and it only came out to 190's and its been driving me crazy, but i guess thats pretty standard for gasoline?

i've got a buddy in argentina with a 3.0 v6 toyota TDI that im trying to get crated up here, thing gets 46 miles a gallon city and he just rebuilt it, so if i could get that thrown in that'd be awesome, also on the look for a vw tdi
