Default Spoiler removal

I have a 2001 Gt-s and really want to get rid of the stock spoiler. I'm not sure if I should just unbolt it, and figure out a way to get rid of the holes, or get a completely new trunk lid. Any help?

The only options you have would be either shave it which looks awesome...leave the nipples there and look ricer....or buy a C/F hatch...myself...I would go with Carbon Fiber if I were to do anything in that direction.

A real c/f hatch I imagine would be expensive, but there are probably stock st hatch lids to swap.

7th gens don't come in ST trim. And I believe any oem hatch you get will come with the holes unless aftermarket CF.

You can unbolt the wing off, cut the nipples out and get something like rubber grommet plugs to cover the holes.

I ended up having mines welded closed permanently prior to my paintjob.

Unless you have them welded like Infamous did its gonna look ricer , and as far as c/f goes yes they are expensive but if you do your homework you can find them cheap , I found a c/f hood for 100.00 in a bone yard in New Mexico and got the sunami hood scoop thrown in for free. Also picked up a TRD rear spoiler for 100.00 and got the TRD front bumper thrown in for free from a guy in Idaho , If I find the killer deal I will travel a ways to get it and still come out ahead.

I deleted the spoiler on my Celi as well before painting. The only right way is the hard way, welding holes closed and repaint hatch section. I also deleted rear wiper for a cleaner look (something to consider if you go the welding route). The rubber grommets are a quick option as well though.

The rubber plugs will cause the hatch to rust around the holes.
