fyi, your oem shocks are made by kyb and the gr2s are pretty much the oem equivelant. If you take off your oem shocks, you'll see KYB on them.
As for the 1.4" drop, thats a moderate drop as stated above. If you're still on stock 16 inch rims, thats like going from a 4 finger gap to about 2 fingers between the fender and tire. |

thanks, think I would notice a beneficial difference in just replacing my oem ones for NEW oem ones, (as my current has 260k miles on it never changed as far as I know)?
INFAMOUS, I plan to get my celica to look as clean and shiny as yours one day. Body kit looks super sharp and I want those headlights too. |

I very recently replaced the struts on my 00 celica gt (3 weeks ago). I didn't bother with lowering springs since the car is already low as **** as it is. I spent about $350 on autopartswarehouse on 2 kyb mounts and 2 kyb struts (free shipping). Do the work yourself and save some $$. They are very easy to replace. Took me about 40mins on each side since those bolts needed some torquing to get them loose.

just wanted to followup with you and tell you my experience. I installed both front and rear, about 40% improvement on handling, still shakes a bit left to right from time to time on turning over bumps. not sure if it was worth it. my brother has a 2001 solara and his shocks are amazing and theyre stock. I appreciate the help and it is an improvement.
got a question if you might know. Is the valve cover gasket ok to get from a local autostore or should i go with oem? Thanks, Matthew |

If you want adjustables, some suggestions would be the kyb agx's (orange) that you saw or some tokico illuminas (white). As for the wheel/fender gap. Depending on the amount of your drop, some bigger rims (17s or 18s) and 45 or 50 series tires will help eliminate some of that and fill it in better. Good Luck! |
