Default Tire & Rim Size Question

I am looking to upgrade my celica from the stock 15" rims to 17" rims this spring. I know that I need 5x100 wheels but I am wondering how well do 17" rims and tires fit? I am looking at rims and I have found several that I like and the options are: 17x7 or 17x7.5. My question is does anyone have this setup on their car and how well does it fit? Thanks!

Remember the old adage, "Large wheels for show, little wheels for go."

both will fit fine, granted your offset is anywhere from +35 to +40, which is common for most aftermarket wheels..

Thanks for the advice. I will post pictures up when the bad weather is gone and the car cover comes off. And after I am done detailing her for several hours.

I got 17's for mine and they fit well. No rubbing or anything and they look good with low profiles. I was told when getting my rims that 18's look too big on the celicas and will probably rub at full articulation.

if you have low profile tires and close up the fender gap i think it will look fine.

If the sidewall is used to compensate for the increased size, the outside diameter of the tire should remain the same. In that case, rubbing would be eliminated as an issue except at full turn and that can be remedied with proper offset or spacers.
