Im looking at a 96 ST with the 1.8 that wont start. I have have a 5SFE 2.2 from a 92 GT that im looking to possibly swap into it. Does the 1.8 use the same motor mounts as the 2.2? And do they use the same transmission?

The A series motors and S series motors don't use the same motor mounts. And I don't think the trannys are compatible either

Tranny is different.
Motor mounts are probably different too. but can be found on E-Gay, junkyard... You might want to check out the ecu wire harness too, that's gonna be different too. c.v. joints. I think this project is gonna be expensive for a 5sfe performance which is not that great stock. |
