I drive a '96 gt, and whenever the temperature outside is 80+ f, and i'm sitting at a stop light in drive, my dash and steering wheel vibrates heavily. When i put it into neutral, it levels out to normal.
Anyone might know what's up with it? My friend suggested it might be a vacuum leak or something. But I'd rather ask someone who might of had the same problem as me in the past. Thanks |

i had the same problem. i took the iac apart and bumped the idle up a bit and that helped a little, also turned the ac idle up too. 1100rpms seems to be the sweet spot. any higher though and she'll try to run away with you and kill an awful lot of fuel.

Take a look at your motor mounts. I have a 94 and it does the same thing. The mechanic told me it was the motor mounts, but I haven't had them fixed yet. There are four of them and they cost anywhere from $45 to $160 each and it's one hour of labor ($80) per mount to replace them. Needless to say, we're saving up to get them replaced.

Could be a few things. Could be a slight vacuum leak. spark or compression could be low causing the motor to shake. could be motor mounts. But the easiest fix would be to bring up the idle a bit so it doesn't go so low when put into drive.
