Question

My remote doesnt work, I cannot diarm my alarm. I have changed the battery and do not have spare remote (Oh sh*t).

The remote looks like it works the light still comes on but nothing happens at the car end. I can still use the key to open it. Does anyone have an idea as to what I cant do? Re program the remote or anything? Maybe for now does anyone know if I can remove the alarm fuse?

Cheers

yeah, freakin toyota oem anti-theft systems suck. i know exactly what you're talking about and i have no idea how to fix it. i just stopped using my keyless entry system. it's the same thing for my parent's sienna.

just to make sure - how many buttons on your remote?

if you just unplug the unit you might find some difficulty in starting the vehicle up - some anti-theft systems cut the starter circuit if it detects unauthorized entry/battery removal.

Well guys i did it, disabled the alarm.

There was a little black box just behind the gear stick, I simply unplugged it. When I use my key to open the car alarm does not sound. Mega bonus!!!

So do i just have to take my remote to toyota to get it re programmed? Will they rip me off heavily?

Cheers
