Default True HID Projector retrofit for 5th gen

So I got some Headlight housings that are the ebay fake projector 7x6. $5 is what I gave a guy that had them on craigslist. He was trying to get $30 for them. I showed him the same ones going on $25 shipped and then how dirty they were. This brings me to the thread Im starting. Im going to do a true projector retrofit. I havent seen it on any 5th gen sooooo

Lets get it started:

THIS ARE NOT REAL HID PROJECTORS!!! its a lie.

First pics are just me cleaning the dirty housings that I got for a great deal.

Im going to be hitting the junk yard to find projectors or I might buy new kit. HID bi-xeneon 55w kit is in the mail. Cant wait to finish this one up.

Yes. They are not real projectors. With HID I hear they are not that bad but, Im going another route.

Im will be getting a real projector to retrofit into the housing.

Mini H1 V5 Bixenon HID Projectors CCFL Type 2 Chrome Shrouds Headlight Retrofit | eBay

A little time and effort and I will have a nice set of head lights. Im want to add turn signals in my housing. haha.

I have also learned that lexan is way better than glass or plastic for the lens. I going to get some of that. I basically just read this post right here for the idea. I havent heard of anyone doing this on a 5th gen. If you want to send me your housings and some money up to my shop I could build you a pair. No labor. Just parts.

It would depend on which projector you chose. Your would be looking at shipping and parts.

$70 for projector
$10 for sealant

so $80 + shipping. If you wanted lexan it would be more.

I just ordered these to save myself the hassle. GTR Lighting 7x6" "Tru-Projector" Dual Beam Headlights

Any advice when it comes to adjusting and aiming HIDs?

yeah but look at the price point. crazy. I can add driving lights, turn signals. I could put 2 projectors in each housing and still be a less than half your cost. I mean those are awesome and exactly what Im going for. It want mine to be one of a kind. I could paint someones name in the housing if I wanted to.

Im a mechanic and a general car fanatic. I just like to do things myself.
