Peggin hot on Gauge - Toyota Celicas

After only 2 minutes running the factory gauge goesfrom full cold to full hot. we have replace the temp sender and the theromstat, not change in gauge behavior. any ideas? anyone seen this before.
We are new to these cars, but not all cars.

bad gauge. Get another water temp gauge and wire it in.
