Exclamation Need some help 90' GT

So I have a 1990 GT non-hatchback and I had a few issues.

The tachometer doesn't work entirely. It sits below 1k almost all the time and I don't know if it is the Throttle Position Sensor or something else.

Also, the engine stalls every now and then and shuts off my car. I don't know if its the new security system I put in it or something with the throttle.

Last question. I want to put a different body on the car but I don't want an overkill body kit. I just wanted to know if I could put the 90' All trac body on the GT body.

I'd appreciate any help guys, Thanks!

Coupes are not wide body but you can still use the bumpers and hood. Just roll your fenders for the wide body look. I dont think that your TPS is the problem. Tach is prolly bad, the tach runs of the ign signal. You put a ram intake on it? You need to adjust your ign timing. You dont have a knock sensor.

my tachometer wasnt working at all when i got the car but i fixed it by replacing the capacitors, im not sure if this would fix your tach but if you really wanted to fix it really bad i would check to see if the capacitors are blown..

Replacing Old Capacitors in the MR2 Tachometer

The engine idle for the 5S-FE should sit around 800rpm I believe which is normal, I would suggest cleaning out your throttle body if you suspect some build up of carbon inside of the throttle body with some cleaner. For the body kit, you can fit some GT-S fenders which are a bit wider allowing you to run fatter tires in the front.

Yeah GT-S fenders would fit. and I have been thinking about cutting the rear quarters out and replacing with GT-S rear quarters in. I have a coupe so I know that I will have to work the metal. I have been waiting for a GT-S in the junkers around here. They have 1 6th gen and that is it. haha. Slim pickings.
