Default Steering

Hi, when turning hard right or left then straightening up my steering wheel is never in the same place even though the car is driving straight ahead!!! the wheel can be up to a quarter of a turn out. I have only noticed this the last two days and it might have been like that for longer but I'm seriously worried about going out in it now. Can anyone advise me as to what the possible problems are? Cheers > Neil

might need an alignment. could be some bad bushing, balljoints, something with the power steering.

Well I nipped to the shops in it and when trying to park it the steering just packed in alltogether locking the wheels as turning the steering wheel would not turn the wheels.... Had it recovered and the whole steering rack had came away from the body of the car and was not fastend to anything... Been told that it might have to have the engine out and some welding done to sort it out... This is going to be expensive!!!! I'm bloody sick!!!!

Well my car was doing the exact same thing. I got an alignment done and it seems like it fixed it. Not sure though I think that I can still feel something off under hard cornering, ill be taking it to my friend next week. I let you know what the mechanic says...
