Default Is it worth it ?

I have a 1992 Celica Gt it has an oil leak and power steering leak. Needs a whole new exhaust catback system and has over 210,000 miles in it. Is it worth fixing these problems or dumping it and get something else? KKB say its worth 1250 in fair condition.

If you could fix it yourself then yea maybe. Just because it would be cheaper. if the leaks aren't too bad then you are better off just buying more oil and power steering and filling it up. I have a leak too and its just cheaper to add oil then to fix it.

For now it is, I have a woman that comes into my work every 5-10 days for PS fluid since hers is leaking.
I asked her how long she has been doing this and she told me "only about a year" Uh..... my math isn't pristine but she could have paid for the repair by now.

Also, if you park in a driveway, PS fluid stains tarmac

my guess is that it's leaking from the rack&pinion ? if so it cost me 225$ to have it rebuild. removing it and installing it with the engine in there might be a crappy job, i did it with no engine in there so it was easy

if it's leaking from the pump, its just a little seal that's about 10$

the high pressure hose is about 125$

Goto a pneumatic shop. It's a lot cheaper to have a hose made

I had the same problem with my power steering. I bought a stop leak from pep boys and it didnt stop at all. Had to refill it about twice every 3 months or so. Then I got this generic brand from a mom n pop shop for 2 bucks (I forgot the brand its in my trunk) and its works alot better. Only refilled it once this year.
