Default Dash Removal?

Hello, I'm new here so I hope I'm not going over old ground. I did a search but couldn't find quite what I was looking for.

I have just bought a 1993 Gen 5 Celica from a colleague. It has been very well looked after, but needs the heater radiator replaced. I have "old new stock" ready to go in, but apparently its quite a job to get the dash out and back in.

Can any point me to a "how to" guide, or provide some hints, tips etc?

Many thanks!

im also gonna have to remove mine for the same reason ( and others also ). and i will tell you right now its looks like one long job. expect to lose a weekend probable.
i have the toyota manual and it looks like you have to remove everything. center console, air vents ( screws behind them ), steering wheel ( be VERY careful with airbag, well everything.
then the heater box... so get a big beer case.

luckily i dont use mine in witer ( convertible ), so i dont have to worry too much, but i would expect a weekend to make you have it for monday to work.

be patient and careful

Cheers mate.

Just looking at it, I figured it was a big job and the more I looked, the more it was looking like everything has to come out.

A job that size has me wondering what the labour cost would be should I find someone willing to take it on.

That alone might mean its a job I need to do myself, even if it takes a week.

That one has me confused?

Doesn't the dash have to come out to get to the cross member?

Exactly. Except that you will see it when the dash comes out.

If its any thing like a 7th gen the cross member is attached to all the wiring thats under the dash...or is it the other way around and the wires are attached to it????? now Im confused....any who's it makes it easier for clearance on getting the heater unit out and for the spaghetti you will have with the wires.
