Default Tranny issues

Hey guys I think I posted this once before. I have no 4th gear its odd because I can put it into 4th gear and it will stay until I apply throttle then it pop out if I try to hold it in 4th it just grinds any ideas?

Change out the fluid, but most likely you will need a rebuild or a new transmission.

if all other gears are ok the that leaves a cable problem out. a 4th gear syncro is rare, usually its the 2nd gear that gets the most damage.
is that the s53 tranny ( 5sfe engine ). i heard that these tranny arent that good, i have converted my 5sfe auto to a 5speed s53 tranny and must say im disapointed.
i get a lot of gear grind in 2nd and 3rd.
so yes i think youre gonna have to rebuild if youre good and patient, or get a new tranny from the junkyard. i think the 5sp manual from a camry 5sfe fits ( check first ). would be easier to get.

its actually a 4afe motor rebuilt so I forget what the actual name of the transmission is shouldnt be more than 500 bucks. I can do the labor she needs a new clutch soon anyways.

92-93 had better trannys then previous 91 model.... mind Grinds in 3rd ... shift with a small pause then put gear in.. works on me n no grind.. only grinds when i hauls as n forget about it :P

only double clutch when getting on freeway or when i feel the need of adrenaline RUSH lol lol n it doesn't grind.. :P.. city streets i pause a bit then shift n goes in smooth
