Angry pulled my ebrake and heard a pop...

well i pulled up my ebrake normally and then i just heard a pop and then it didnt work anymore.. its still clicked on the way up though, so i thought it just needed to be tightened so i took apart the center counsel and tightened it and it was working but then i bulled it again and another pop... and now i cant tighten in anymore... did i snap it and where do i look?

check the ebrake cable under the car. sounds like it may have snapped or something

Check the bolts that screw over the cable under center console, they're exposed to the weather, may have caused rust on the thread and hence the popping noise during pulls. From my personal experience, the cables were jam (stuck), once i pulled it, it wouldn't release, but there was no popping noise, I just simply replaced the e-brake cables with new ones. $30 bucks each, solved the problem.

the ebrake cables aren't too bad to replace, you twist them 90 degrees and they come off, and they are held on my two screws on the rear brake assembly.
