welcome to the world of celicas! well first off, your st motor is by no means a performance engine and wont produce alot of power no matter what you do to it. you can get an ebay header and intake for a slight power boost (maybe 15 horse) and a better noise, but if you want real power you gotta do a swap. Either a 3s-gte or 4a-gze will make the power you want, but it will take dedication and most importantly, money haha

the 4A-GZE is a slightly older design, since it came in 88-89 mr2's. but still makes good power with its supercharger and makes a great swap candidate. the 3s-GTE is a long surviving toyota performance engine which you'll find in celica all tracs/GTfours or 2nd gen mr2's. despite their age they still make enough power to keep up with modern engine, so don't let their production year throw you off lol

Power is great, but with your st; I don't really think that's the direction you should go in. The ST has a fuel efficient 4-AFE engine, so instead of power go for fuel economy. With gas prices the way they are, the more miles you can get per gallon, the more you can save towards getting a more powerful car.
