Need Help! E-brake light on dash stays on

My brake light on my dash stays on constantly. It brightens up if I pull the emergency brake up but when I release the brake it dims a little but dont go off. What can I do to make it go off? I just recently replaced the brake pads and brake fluid and my brakes are working great but the light on the dash doesnt come off. Could it be an electrical problem?

you can just take the light bulb out of the instrument cluster if it bothers you.

Did you check your brake fluid level it maybe low or your sensor maybe stuck

my brake light never comes on when i pull the brake but it will light up when i start the ignition. never bothered to check it out.

They always had to switch one for the hand brake and the other for the brake fluids

Brake fluid is good as well as brake pads. Where can i find the brake switch? I want to fix this because i want to use my cruise control in long driving. My cruise control doesnt work because the system is sensing that im on e-brake cause of the e-brake is always on.

Okay make sure your level is not disconnected and that's on the cap of the master cylinder let me know if its still on

stii havent had the time to do it im working 2 12 hour shift this weekend but im off on monday i should be able to check it. what level are you referring to? thanks and ill let you know as soon as i get my hands on it this monday.

i was able to check the level on the master cylinder and it doesnt look disconnected, it looks well connected to the master cylinder. i also removed the center console and check the handbrake connection and everything looks fine. what could be the reason why the e-brake is still coming on? anything else i might have missed?

I think you may have a short somewhere that's causing it to stay lite, trace the wire and make sure its not grounding out
